Philadelphia, PA—Philadelphia’s Christmas Village kicked-off their 14th season inside of LOVE Park with an event called “Willkommen Zurück,” or “Welcome Back” on November 28th.
With Special Guests and Performers, the first official ribbon-cutting event was held to celebrate the open-air German Market. As the Camden Catholic High School led the beginning of the event with a performance, attendees then heard from Philadelphia City Representative, Sheila Hess, Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell, and Christmas Village Organizer and German American Marketing Inc. CEO Thomas Bauer.
In addition to the performers and speakers, Christmas Village’s official mascot, Phil the Reindeer was there to greet everyone at the Willkommen Zurück event. Afterwards, everyone was welcome to experience the festive and family-friendly market with hot chocolate, or mulled wine to help keep them warm.
And you can come out to enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes at this year’s Christmas Village while it is transformed into a winter wonderland with thousands of twinkling lights, festive Christmas decorations, and live music at the main stage. And look for numerous children’s activities, including photo opportunities with Santa! And for visitors who are 21+, you can enjoy taking a break from shopping with Wine, Spirits and Beer Flight Tastings.
Admission to Philadelphia’s Christmas Village is free, and will be open daily until Christmas Eve (Friday, December 24, 2021), with food, drink, and other merchandise offered by vendors varying by cost.
