Jazz Up Your February
At Chris’ Jazz Café and their star-studded Valentine’s Weekend!
Chris’ Jazz Café, which has continuously operated for over 30 years in Philadelphia, is bringing a star-studded line up to their stage this February.
As February approaches, people begin looking to find the perfect spot to celebrate their Valentine’s (and Galentines) Day with the ones they love. Knowing that this year, the big day for sweethearts is coming soon, Chris’ Jazz Café is prepared to offer the perfect setting.
The club will kick-off the love-filled weekend with Philadelphia’s Denise King taking the stage on Friday, February 11th, and on Saturday February 12th Chris’ Jazz Café will bring rising star Anaïs Reno to perform for their guests.
And although the club will be closed on Sunday, they will resume their Valentine’s celebrations by continuing their tradition of hosting sultry songstress Joanna Pascale on Monday February 14th. If you would like to enjoy Pascale’s performance, you’ll have a better chance as the club added additional seating with the option of Dinner & Show packages ($85 per person) at 6, 8 and 10 p.m.
However, Chris’ Jazz Café knows how to share the love of jazz by hosting the first ever Lee Morgan Tribute Festival, which runs from Thursday, February 17 through Saturday, February 19 which will feature a variety of talented Philadelphia musicians.
“Orrin Evans and I had been reflecting on the fact that trumpeter Lee Morgan is an under-celebrated Philadelphia musician, and it seemed like it was certainly time to acknowledge the many contributions he made to jazz,” said Chef/Owner Mark DeNinno in a press release. “To emphasize the Philadelphia connection, we are showcasing only musicians who are based in Philadelphia or whose careers originated here, such as Robin and Duane Eubanks, Tim Warfield and Sean Jones.” To do an adequate retrospective of Lee’s works, DeNinno said they needed more than a single night of performances.
Dinner & Show packages are on sale now for all shows which includes a 3-course dinner and the performance. Beverages, tax & gratuity not included. Showtimes are 8 and 10 p.m. Please check the website for ticket prices. All tickets are premium seating. “Pay-As-You-Wish” streaming is also available via https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/PhillyJazz or Venmo: @ChrisJazz-Café.
