Restaurant Aleksandar is Open in Rittenhouse!
The Grand-Opening Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Restaurant Aleksandar was held Today in Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Region.
Rittenhouse Square—The latest restaurant to make waves in the culinary industry is holding it’s Grand Opening ceremony today. Restaurant Aleksandar, which is owned by Aleksandar Stojnic, offered tours and tastings during his ribbon-cutting event to welcome Philadelphia to his new restaurant.
After Visit Philly's new President and CEO Angela Val, Councilman Allan Domb, and City Representative Sheila Hess and Center City District's Michelle Shannon made statements welcoming the new restaurateur to the city, they helped to cut their ceremonial red ribbon in a grand gesture that Restaurant Aleksandar was officially open.
Restaurant Aleksandar is a brand new restaurant, bar, and creative space in Rittenhouse that now occupies two former restaurants combining them into one. For the owners, this is the first restaurant and a major investment in the city of Philadelphia with plans to open two more concepts in the same building, which they purchased, moving forward.
As a new restaurant owner, Aleksandar Stojnic wanted to bring a unique and well-designed place to Philadelphia's Rittenhouse neighborhood – with great vibes, elevated drinks, and beautiful dishes – yet still offer all of that with pricing that is affordable to all. The intention is to offer a creative space where you can find the city's top food and beverage offerings while offering a space that artists can call home—including the current artwork throughout Aleksandar, as it was custom designed by the owners’ mother.
In addition to offering a creative space for artists. you can opt to dine at their bar or any of the three sections of the dining room, which holds a total of 98 seats.
And you will want to reserve one of those seats for yourselves, as they introduce one of the city's youngest and most talented rising star chefs: Executive Chef Montana Houston. Chef Houston, whose resume includes working at Zahav, the Catskills, and Braddock’s Tavern in New Jersey, also includes working at Michelin star restaurants.
Suffice it to say, Executive Chef Houston and his team’s plan to offer an American menu with Eastern European influences will not only be a delicious way to pay homage to the culture and cuisine of the owners family, but a enticing menu for foodies to enjoy.
In the owner’s own words via a press release, “We are obsessed with hospitality. We draw inspiration from comforting moments of the past. We look forward to breathing life into new iterations of the things we love. We have downscaled fine dining with our moms family heirloom cookbook, and might even get a little weird with it. We think of Restaurant Aleksandar as an edible and drinkable library of experience.”
